We feel we are unique especially when you look at our aspirations regeneration of our urban areas.

We are committed to helping the Kirklees’ economy grow. We have seen an increase in development activity recently and are looking at strengthening our development management team service. The Kirklees Local Plan was adopted on 27th February 2019. We think it is an exciting time and this is your chance to be part of a vibrant and progressive team looking to improve not only the development management service but the towns and communities that we serve.

About You

We are looking for experienced and enthusiastic candidates, with a relevant professional qualification, extensive experience in development management, planning enforcement and team leadership. Take a look at our recently published Development Management Compliance Strategy which sets out our aims and priorities for Planning Enforcement in Kirklees. You would be tasked with leading the Compliance Team and would be empowered to make robust, clear, helpful but decisive decisions around enforcement action, particularly in relation to unauthorised construction site activity and any breaches of planning permissions. Working closely with Councillors to keep communities informed on progress on action, we put Members and their communities at the heart of our decisions.

You will also have experience of working in a sensitive political environment. If you are committed and have aspirations for greater things then this will be an ideal opportunity for you to use your skills and show that you can really perform. We can support your personal development training to help you grow and flourish as a leader in our organisation.
