An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and committed Planner to join our fast moving Planning Policy team. You will be part of our friendly and dedicated multi-disciplinary team as it progresses with the implementation of our recently adopted Local Plan and help deliver our ambitious plans for housing and employment development and regeneration within a district open for business and growth.
The successful candidate will be joining us at an exciting and challenging time. Our district, is a highly diverse place to live and work, it includes the thriving University town of Huddersfield and stunning Pennine countryside. Diverse towns and villages range from Dewsbury at the edge of Leeds to Holmfirth at the edge of the Peak District. We are committed to helping Kirklees’ economy grow and in response to the adoption of the Local Plan we are seeking to appoint an ambitious professional who wishes to be a part of our dynamic team.
Working within Planning Policy you will be involved in all aspects of planning policy related work, which will include Local Plan monitoring, implementation and review, preparation of Supplementary Planning Document’s and Area Action Plan’s, Neighbourhood Planning, provision of appropriate policy guidance, place making and citizen engagement, involvement in projects, preparation of policy statements and development briefs and work around town centres.
