Planning Officer - Planning Policy
Are you looking for your first big planning job in a big local authority?
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Planning Officer in the Planning Policy Team at Northampton Borough Council. This job has a wide remit offering you opportunities to gain experience of local plans, neighbourhood plans, evidence base and monitoring work.
Northampton faces some interesting challenges. The Council is committed to economic and housing growth and we already work closely with our neighbours to provide for the borough’s needs and aspirations within a wider area. This growth needs to take place while the town is being regenerated, with extensive inward investment in the Waterside Enterprise Zone and a renewed emphasis on the town’s unique heritage. The borough is well positioned in the Cambridge – Milton Keynes – Oxford Arc and we are seeking to make the most of this opportunity.
The successful candidate will play an important role in Local Plan preparation to address these opportunities and challenges in a positive way.
We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and conscientious individual who holds relevant qualifications and is keen to gain experience. For an informal discussion about this post, please contact Paul Everard, Planning Policy and Heritage Manager, on 01604 837279 or Noreen Banks, Planning Policy Team Leader, on 01604 837835.
