The production of the Havant Borough Local Plan 2036 has been underway since 2016. A great deal of work has taken place on the plan up until now to make sure that the plan meets the borough’s needs, that it is robust and that it meets the key tests the Government requires. We face a challenging need for new development whilst looking to ensure that we continue to develop our borough in a sustainable way, providing good jobs and maintaining our high quality natural environment.

The Local Plan is one of the most important functions of the Borough Council and the postholder will play a key part in its development. The post offers an excellent opportunity for someone with planning experience looking for a new challenge or to take the next step up in their career in terms of influence and responsibility.
