Head of Growth
Excellent opportunity to join an authority in East London in the role of Head of Growth. A key strategic appointment, this role will put you in the lead role for projects covering the renewal of High Streets, town centres and retail and street market development. Working with colleagues across the Planning and Regen directorate you will work to ensure the Local Plan is adhered to and implemented in accordance with agreed milestones and objectives set out by the authority.
As a member of the Senior Management team you will be responsible for grant funded budgets and service delivery targets, ensuring that resources are deployed effectively in line with agreed priorities. You will represent the Council in the community and corporately to foster productive partnership working with a wide range of stakeholders. You will lead discussion and development of appropriate responses across a wide range of partnerships including the GLA, London Councils and the LEP. A key requirement of the role will require you to develop strategies and provide advice to support the establishment of businesses in the area, their growth and their ability to reach new markets.
To carry out this role you will need to be able to demonstrate a proven track record leading and managing change, including cultural change, resulting in measurable service improvement. You will need to have a clear understanding of risk management and you will need strong financial management skills with the ability to achieve value for money. It is absolutely essential that you are able to successfully develop and implement new and innovative strategies which are effective, and which reflect current best practice.
The role is expected to last at least 6 months, very probably longer given it's nature and we expect it will pay at least £350/day and will be inside IR35.
