New impetus for planning policies. The same amazing district.

Named Best Place to Live in the UK* for five years running, the district of Hart continues to grow and prosper. We’re committed to making sure that our area remains an amazing place for our 91,000+ residents. But to provide outstanding, value for money services, we need you to help us progress, evolve and innovate.

This role places you at the very heart of our team, where you’ll lead your own critical planning policy projects and initiatives. Naturally, you’ll be working alongside colleagues towards a common goal, so you must be able to see the bigger picture as well as the smaller details.

Day to day, you’ll build your experience, assisting the Planning Policy Manager. You’ll lead the preparation of local plans; monitor those underway; and tackle joint projects with outside organisations. There’ll also be the opportunity to comment on Neighbourhood plans, and to add value to the Development Management process by providing expert input. And, as a senior team member, you’ll be our representative at steering groups, public meetings and committees.

With a degree (or equivalent) in Town Planning and wide-ranging experience, you’ll be capable and ideally RTPI-accredited. You’ll know about national planning policy practice and Neighbourhood plans, as well as our local community’s thoughts and concerns. Consultative, collaborative and commercially sharp, you’ll bring good communication skills and keen political sense.

Hart lies in beautiful Hampshire, just 40 minutes from London. Make sure it remains a fantastic place to live, now and in the future.
