Swindon is a vibrant town with big plans for growth and regeneration.  We are investing in our Planning Service to ensure we can continue to plan positively for Swindon’s growth, deliver high quality design and support a competitive and productive economy.

We are looking to appoint a skilled and highly motivated Planner to manage a caseload of planning applications to support delivery of the Local Plan.

This role provides a great opportunity for a dynamic individual with a ‘can do’ attitude to be part of Swindon’s continuing success story. At the same time you’ll be a team player who enjoys working collaboratively with colleagues across the Council, partner organisations and with developers.

Development Management experience and an ability to travel throughout the Borough to undertake site visits are essential.

The post holder must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act – for the effective performance of a customer-facing role).
