SENIOR ENFORCEMENT OFFICER
£28,785 - £32,878
An opportunity has arisen to work as an integral part of our friendly and pro-active Development and Enforcement Team for a Senior Enforcement Officer to help deliver the Council’s vision for the Borough. You will be based in Rugby Town Centre in Warwickshire within a Borough of over 100,000 population which is expected to grow by 30% by 2035.
The successful applicant should have experience of planning enforcement work together with knowledge of the planning system. You must be well organised and self-motivated with the ability to work independently. You must have very good communication skills and the ability to resolve a range of problems in a customer focussed manner.
The post will lead on a range of planning enforcement matters and be responsible for ensuring enforcement complaints are investigated and assessed in a timely manner in accordance with the Council’s Enforcement Policy. You will help resolve breaches of planning control and when this is not possible you will lead on taking the most appropriate enforcement action, including preparing and issuing a full range of enforcement notices and preparing and giving evidence in respect of enforcement appeals and court proceedings.
Explaining every step of the planning and enforcement process to our customers is vital to our success, and your achievements will be based not only on your ability to do your job but also on putting customer service at the heart of everything you do.
A driving licence and access to a car for business use is essential.
