Our staff survey results consistently tell us that our employees think this is a great place to work and that they are proud to work for the Councils.  An Investor in People Assessor commented that, "staff are incredibly positive about their work for the Council, committed to its success and have a high level of satisfaction.”

We are looking to strengthen the joint Planning Policy and Economic Development team, based in Amersham, by appointing a Assistant Planner.  You will join the team at a professionally exciting and challenging time, working on a new joint Local Plan and helping to prepare for the transition to a single unitary council for Buckinghamshire in April 2020.  The Councils care passionately about protecting their environment (e.g. AONB, Green Belt, town and village character) whilst also planning positively to meet local development needs and delivering sustainable development.

The Assistant Planner will provide professional and administrative support to the Planning Policy and Economic Development team.  This is an ideal opportunity to start your career in planning or to develop your existing professional skills.  We are looking for someone with or soon to achieve a planning degree, or who has experience in planning or related areas, and who wants to develop an interest in planning policy.
