HAVANT BOROUGH COUNCIL
GRADES E-G (£21,868 - £32,492) (dependent on skills and experience)
Ref: HB0017
Exciting times lie ahead for Havant Borough Council. With significant regeneration projects taking shape, and an emerging Local Plan shaping the future of a diverse geographical area, we are looking for talented individuals to bring our plans to life.
Our focus on learning and developing has led to a number of promotions recently. The council is now in a position to offer a range of opportunities in both planning policy and development management.
With an ambitious Local Plan about to be submitted for Examination, we are looking for two planning policy officers to join the team. They will play an important role in taking the Local Plan through its examination-in-public to adoption and on to implementation. They will also be involved in preparing future local plans and planning guidance.
The posts enable appointment between grades E to G depending on the level of skill and experience of the successful candidates. If appointed at one of the lower grades, milestones will be agreed to allow progression up to the Senior Planning Policy Officer role.
This is an excellent opportunity for anyone with some relevant experience to progress in their career, take on new challenges and learn new skills. We will provide all of the necessary training, including sponsoring placement on an RTPI accredited masters course.
In return for your hard work and contribution, we can offer you a competitive salary, support for your continuous professional development, generous annual leave, free parking, membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme and more. Take a look at our website for the full range of benefits and support we offer our staff www.havant.gov.uk/benefits-working-hbc
For a full discussion about this post please contact David Hayward, Planning Policy Manager, on 023 9244 6174 or Jade Ellis, Principal Planning Policy Officer, on 023 9244 6470.
For full details of the role, please visit www.havant.gov.uk/jobs-and-careers. To apply, please send your CV and a supporting statement to recruitmentsupport@havant.gov.uk. Please include the reference number in your supporting statement.
Closing date for receipt of applications is 17:00 on 28 August 2019.
The council is an inclusive employer and appoint on merit. We are a Disability Confident Employer and have a Guaranteed Interview Scheme for Veterans.
