Planning & Monitoring Officer

We are looking for a dedicated and talented person to join the Planning and Housing team as our new Planning and Monitoring Officer to support the West of England Combined Authority strategic planning activities.

Working to the Housing and Planning Team Manager and under the guidance of other Programme Leads on specific work areas, you will provide planning, housing and research support. This will include monitoring changes in development, demographics, economic trends, land availability and environmental information, compiling and producing maps and other forms of graphical presentation and assisting in policy formulation, research analysis and report writing.

You will be familiar with demographics and monitoring housing data, with a good working knowledge of spreadsheets, databases and powerpoint, and Geographical Information Systems.

You’ll have a degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field with a good knowledge of the planning system, ideally gained through post-qualification experience in the public or private sector, and great communication and team-working skills.
