Two x Assistant Planning Officers – Development Management and Planning Strategy
Up to £22,152 per annum + £2,907 Car Allowance per annum
Starting salary dependent on qualifications and experience
This is an exciting time to be a Planner in Rother. We are looking for two enthusiastic and self-motivated people to fill the roles of Assistant Planning Officer to work primarily in our Development Management Team.
Rother are creating a progressive and efficient Planning Service focused on delivering high quality and sustainable development alongside excellent customer Service. You may already have experience in working or studying within town planning or in a similar area (but this is not essential), and this may be an ideal opportunity for a graduate or someone at the start of their planning career, to gain valuable experience working within a busy planning service. Where relevant, there will be development opportunities to undertake day release training and gain a planning qualification.
You will be working in both the town and picturesque countryside areas of the Rother District. The role will include taking responsibility for a range of planning applications, with some related enforcement work. We are investing in development and training of our staff, therefore there may also be an opportunity to gain some experience in planning policy.
Excellent written and verbal communication is essential, strong negotiation skills will be important in undertaking the duties of this post.
