Planning Policy Officer (Northern Ireland)

Home-based in Northern Ireland

Fixed-term contract for two years initially

Part-time, 14 hours per week

£31,937 pro-rata

We are a membership organisation and a Chartered Institute responsible for maintaining professional standards, accrediting world class planning courses nationally and internationally and advancing the art and science of planning for the benefit of the public.

We are looking for someone to work in Northern Ireland to research, inform and develop thinking on relevant planning policy and practice related issues in Northern Ireland in consultation with members.  The role is home-based with travel to meetings across Northern Ireland and occasionally London and other parts of the UK. You will be a Chartered member of the RTPI with a good knowledge of Northern Ireland planning system and current planning policy issues. 

You will be an enthusiastic and influential person with a wide ranging interest in planning and experience of working in a planning service. You will have excellent written and oral communication skills and IT skills and will be comfortable organising your own work programme to ensure deadlines are met. You will have particular abilities in excellent customer care.
