The role 

We are looking for a Planning Enforcement Officer to join us who is self-motivated, adaptable and flexible in their approach and on a journey of continual improvement. We offer an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to make a difference in our eCopynforcement team dealing with a wide range of planning and environmental issues. 

Planning Enforcement is an important function within the planning process in Oxford and our committed team work at the sharp end of planning and development management. Our Regulatory Services has a strong record of taking a proactive enforcement stance and using their full range of skills in an effective and innovative way to secure improvements for residents in the City. Playing a key role in this you will possess strong persuasion, negotiation and communications skills while advising customers on how to ensure compliance and assessments of harm and expediency are conducted appropriately. 

The role will also involve taking the appropriate enforcement action where necessary, including dealing with enforcement appeals and attending court proceedings and committee hearings. A confident decision maker having the ability to engage with all key stakeholders while maintaining a high personal standard of professionalism and behaviours at all times, this is a real opportunity for the right person to join a strong, efficient team whose focus is to deliver a high quality service
