Service Manager - Development Management

Grade L SCP 40-43 £42,683 - £45,591 plus possible market supplement

Torbay Council is seeking to recruit a new Service Manager for Development Management to facilitate the growth and regeneration for Torquay, Paignton and Brixham set out in the Local Plan.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced development management professional who is a member of the RTPI to join our team. They will take on a wide range of projects and work with senior managers in Torbay on a review of the processes and procedures within development management, to ensure that the team provides an excellent customer service.

We are looking for an individual with a strong desire to contribute to the delivery of successful place making and deliver the Council’s key growth agenda, while also overseeing other complex and challenging development proposals and guiding planning officers.

The Service Manager will be responsible for the Development Management team, including planning enforcement, guiding officers and advising members in both the strategic direction of the team and the growth of Torbay.
