The Opportunity

Our Local Plans Team has been busy working on Charnwood’s Draft Local Plan 2019-2036 and this is due to go out to full public consultation shortly.  The team is working to support our Strategic Growth Plan and Neighbourhood Plans. We are looking for a Team Leader to manage the preparation, implementation and review of the statutory local development framework, for the Borough to realise the Council’s vision and objectives for sustainable development. 

Who are we looking for?

You must be an experienced policy planner that is a clear and effective communicator, have strong project management skills and be able to deal with complex planning issues to produce reasoned recommendations supported by available evidence.  You will need to have substantial recent experience of preparing development plan policies and in their implementation including direct experience of the preparation and presentation of evidence and appearance as an expert witness at public inquiries, examinations in public or other public hearing.
