South Lakeland District Council is seeking to recruit a Level 2 Specialist (Development Management) within the specialist service area ‘Place’.
The successful applicant will be responsible for managing a complex case load of major and minor applications and will be able to deal with less complex applications as demand requires, such as householder applications. They will be responsible for drafting delegated reports and will be comfortable attending and presenting reports to planning committees. They will need to have experience of successfully working with other professional disciplines in developing innovative ways of working with applicants, to deliver high quality development and will need to be a qualified planner and chartered member of the RTPI or working towards chartered membership.
The successful candidate will need to possess a relevant degree or qualification and have previous relevant experience. They will require good IT skills and have the ability to research case law and good practice in the further development of this area of work.
