Planning Policy Officer
Grade 6 (£28,785 - £32,878 per annum)
Can you help plan the future of East Northamptonshire?
East Northamptonshire Council provides an excellent opportunity to develop your career. Based in our recently modernised offices at Thrapston, the District is set in an attractive environment with a diverse mix of market towns and rural villages providing a range of planning issues, whilst seeking to meet demands for future growth.
We are proactive in plan making and have a small, but busy, policy section which is also preparing a District Wide Local Plan to inform policy up to 2031.
We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and conscientious individual to join our planning policy team, to carry out a wide range of work to progress the Local Plan to submission.
The successful candidate will have some experience of working in a planning related environment and hold the relevant qualifications or be prepared to work towards them.
We invest in our people, and try to ensure that they have the opportunity to gain good quality practical experience that is required throughout their professional planning career. We also recognise the importance of helping our employees balance their work and home life by offering flexible working arrangements.
Benefits include:
- Excellent working environment
- Payment of professional fees
- Excellent local government pension scheme
Changes are on the horizon across Northamptonshire in which the county and district councils will join to create unitary authorities covering populations of over 300,000 each. This transformation could open the doors to new and exciting career opportunities for all our employees.
