Associate Director - Town Planning

A UK planning consultancy is looking for an experienced Associate / AD to join, and ultimately lead, its Oxford office planning team.

Qualifications & Experience:

• MRTPI, proven town planning experience in the private sector, preferably consultancy.
• Strong networking ability, this role requires someone with either business development experience or the commercial attitude to take on this responsibility.
• Project / client management experience.
• Positive, self-motivating approach to work.

Role & Company:

This planning consultancy, with offices in Oxfordshire and Yorkshire, are expanding their planning presence in both regions. Working closely with their land, design and environmental teams, you will be working on a wide variety of developments across South England. All of their projects are medium to large scale and are located outside of major urban areas. The majority of their clients are looking to build long term 'legacy' projects, and care immensely about the development on their land. As such, excellent project and client management skills are required.

This role will see you guide clients' projects through the planning system, researching planning legislation, writing planning applications, and attending appeals. You will be the leading planning presence in the office and therefore will be the focal point for the largest and most complex southern schemes. You will be expected to network and generate new business for the company, ultimately contributing to the continued growth that the consultancy projects. Once in place, the practice will look to hire a senior planner to provide support and be the founding piece for growing your team.
