Grade SCP 46-49 - Pay From: £48,588 To: £52,062

St Helens is at the Heart of the North West located midway between Liverpool and Manchester, playing a key role in the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority. We are ideally situated to benefit from the Northern Powerhouse agenda.

This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic and motivated individual to drive forward planning policy to support the development agenda, including the preparation and adoption of a new Local Plan. You will also be responsible for transport policy and ensuring that we maximise the opportunities of the strategic transport agenda for the benefit of our Borough's business and residents.

Planning has a positive profile in St Helens and the successful candidate will ensure that we continue to support the growth of the Borough.

We are looking for a new Development Plans Manager, with excellent knowledge of Planning and Transport policy legislation. Applicants should be able to demonstrate sound judgement, have a flexible approach to problem solving and be capable of dealing with a wide variety of situations working within a friendly, supported environment.

Council employees are required to abide by the ethical standards embodied by the 7 NOLAN principles of conduct in public life. These include selflessness, integrity, objectivity, accountability, openness, honesty and leadership.
