The Local Plan (Part One) was adopted in 2015 and the Local Plan (Part Two) was adopted in July 2019.  The team have also supported the making of 21 neighbourhood plans, with a further 13 plans under preparation.

The team are currently reviewing the Local Plan (Part One), supporting preparation of neighbourhood plans, preparing Supplementary Planning Documents and Development Briefs and undertaking monitoring and research.

The friendly and dynamic team are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Planning Officer to assist with preparation, implementation and review of the policies in the Local Plan (Part One), assist with neighbourhood planning, prepare planning documents and undertake monitoring.

We are looking to recruit a team player who can demonstrate knowledge and understanding of planning and a willingness to learn. Relevant work experience would be an advantage, but this role will provide a great opportunity for you to develop your planning policy skills and experience. You will work across a variety of different subject areas within a large and diverse borough which boasts an enviable natural and built environment.

This is a career-grade role (Grade 6-8), with the grade appointed and progression through the grades depending upon knowledge and experience. The role includes the opportunity for suitable candidates to receive funding and time out of the office to undertake a postgraduate qualification in planning or a related discipline.
