The Role:
You will play a key role within the Planning Team, responsible for a full range of Development Management matters including determination of planning applications under delegated powers, to lead and manage multi-disciplinary project teams dealing with all planning control matters for strategic developments and enquiries leading a caseload of major applications, and related appeals and developer enquiries, and to input to the wider professional work of the Planning Service.

 You will lead and support on the creation of innovative solutions to a wide range of issues improving the quality of a development on behalf of the Local Authority or any client.

Dealing with a full range of applications you will need previous experience, skill and judgment to negotiate S106 agreements to achieve maximum benefits on behalf of all Services, clients and the Community, formulate recommendations, prepare complex reports and present to Planning Committee.

There will also be opportunities to work on projects located outside of the Borough, acting as a consultant on behalf of private clients in relation to planning matters, including the preparation, submission and management of planning applications, and appeals.

You will be a Chartered Town Planner, with experience in the production of development plans, and neighbourhood plans, with excellent communication and customer service skills.
