Senior Planning Policy Officer

This is a full-time post, working 37 hours a week. This post is at Grade 7 (£41,555 - £46,294)

South Oxfordshire District Council and Vale of White Horse District Council are forward thinking local authorities, based in one of the most attractive areas of the country. They are looking for a professional, competent and enthusiastic person who is able to communicate well at all levels. An excellent benefits package is on offer including annualised hours (flexible working) and a career average pension scheme. They have modern open plan offices and smart working practices and the technology to support mobile working.

This is an exciting time to join the team. Both Council’s Local Plans are balancing the need for significant level of housing and economic growth with the environment. We are also receiving significant investment in infrastructure, we have the prospect of nationally significant infrastructure planned in Oxfordshire, and we are involved in collaborative work as part of the Oxfordshire Housing and Growth Deal and the Strategic Level Oxfordshire Plan.

The successful applicant for this role will join the councils at an important time to help deliver the work of the policy team, but opportunities to work across the Planning Service will also be available.

If you are looking for a new challenge and enjoy working in a fast-paced exciting environment with opportunities to develop professionally, this could be the role for you.
