How can we build the homes we need, while protecting the countryside and the wider environment for future generations? We live in times of unprecedented development pressure and with far reaching reforms to planning law and policy expected in the forthcoming Planning White Paper.

We are looking for a planning officer – a good all-rounder – to support our work on influencing the planning system at a national level, research how the planning system is working at the local level and providing planning advice to our network and supporters.

CPRE, the countryside charity, fights for a better future for the English countryside. We work locally and nationally to protect, shape and enhance a beautiful, thriving countryside for everyone to value and enjoy. CPRE is also a great place to work with friendly and enthusiastic staff and offices in Southwark.

You will have a good working understanding of the English planning system, most likely a qualified planner, and a commitment to campaigning on subjects relevant to CPRE purposes. We are also keen to hear from people with relevant experience of research, and applying Geographical Information Systems (GIS) to explain planning or environmental issues.

To apply, candidates should read the candidate information pack and Job and person specification below then complete the application form (CVs will not be accepted). Please make sure you address the criteria outlined in the Job and person specification; failing to do so, will mean you will be unlikely to be shortlisted. Please send your completed application to jobs@cpre.org.uk by the closing date.
