Development Management Manager (001208)
Great Yarmouth is a leading coastal holiday resort on the edge of the Broads National Park and plays a key role in the offshore energy sector. Great Yarmouth Borough Council is generating an ambitious programme of regeneration and development, with challenges ranging from seafront and town centre transformation to addressing brownfield site development. The prospective candidate for this role will be expected to engage with these challenges.
We are looking for candidates who have a degree or diploma in Planning and have full corporate membership to the Royal Town Planning Institute (MRTPI). It is expected that you will undertake site surveys and inspections. A full driving licence and vehicle are required.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of Development Management staff, delivery of the Development Management function and contributing to the wider departmental and corporate objectives. Your leadership style will help to create an environment in which the Planning Service can innovate, develop and flourish.
This is a good opportunity to develop your experience and make a difference, within a friendly, supportive and pro-active team. You should be able to demonstrate competence and capability, be self-motivated and operate well as part of a team. You will be expected to work under your own initiative, meet tight deadlines and be computer literate, with an aptitude to learn and promote new system technologies.
You need to be a strong senior leader with a clear vision and a desire to deliver improvement. If you are a motivated, dynamic and enthusiastic individual who feels that you could make a positive impact on the Borough, we would really like to hear from you.
