Lead Planning Officer - 27 Hours Per Week (possibility of more hours considered)

£36,494 - £39,034 per annum for full time working (inc London Fringe and Car Allowance). To be pro-rated for part-time working

Situated in West Hertfordshire, the Borough of Dacorum is composed of the main towns of Hemel Hempstead, Berkhamsted and Tring, with large areas of Green Belt and Outstanding Natural Beauty, historic settlements and buildings.

We are seeking to appoint a Lead Planning Officer to our Development Management Team.

This is a challenging and demanding post, and we are looking for candidates who can problem solve and negotiate positive outcomes.

Successful candidates will take responsibility for efficient management, and processing of a caseload of major planning applications and related determinations, notices and orders through all stages of the development process from pre-application advice, statutory process and delivery, in accordance with performance targets and standards. This will include working within Planning Performance Agreements, preparing reports for Committee and attending Development Management Committee (during evenings, as required) and preparing statements and proofs of evidence for appeals. You will be liaising with our customers ensuring that complex matters are explained professionally.

The successful candidate will be developing skills in the above with support and guidance from the Team/Assistant Leader.

Applicants must have a degree or equivalent, and working towards eligibility for membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute. You must also have a full driving licence that is valid in the UK and access to a car.
