We’re currently looking for a Planner to join us on a part-time basis.

The Peak District National Park is a treasured landscape that has been shaped by the long interaction of natural and cultural forces. You will play an important role in maintaining the balance between people and nature to ensure that the Park can be enjoyed for generations to come.

The Role

As a Planner, you will support the delivery of our Development Management service and help to protect the valued characteristics of our National Park. You will ensure that our park can continue to evolve to meet the changing needs of the environment and the local population.

Specifically, you will: 

- Process planning applications and associated development management matters
- Negotiate with applicants on planning applications 
- Provide planning advice and guidance to members of the public and applicants 
- Prepare our case on planning appeals, including informal hearings and public inquiries 

About You

To join us as a Planner, you will need: 

- Experience of development management 
- An understanding of planning law and regulations 
- The ability to make balanced judgements
- Effective negotiation skills 
- A formal planning qualification 
- A full driving licence and access to your own vehicle 

An awareness of rural planning issues would be beneficial to your application.
