Senior Planning Officer

Osborne Richardson have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Town Planner to join our clients Development Management Team for a 12 month Fixed Term Contract.

Your work will focus on dealing with a caseload of complex minor and medium planning applications as well as large scale major planning applications, and you will be providing expert technical advice at every stage. On a daily basis, inline with our clients service-wide and corporate performance indicators, you will assess, negotiate and set out clear and robust recommendations in an accurate, well written officer report based on relevant planning policies and other material considerations. You will also be required to carry out site visits and represent the Council at committee.

You must have at least 5 years of relevant and recent experience of managing a caseload of this type with a UK local authority. It is essential that your knowledge of current planning legislation and guidelines is fully up to date. You must have great communication skills as you will be dealing with a wide range of stakeholders on a daily basis to convey complex, detailed information in a clear, concise format. This local authority has a high volume of work at the moment so requires a planning officer who can hit the ground running.

The post will be split between our clients Major Projects Team, assisting with the processing of large scale mixed use planning application, and their West Area Team.
