Rother District Council is an ambitious Council at the heart of 1066 Country in East Sussex. Based in Bexhill-on-Sea the district also covers the historic towns of Battle and Rye as well as a large, attractive rural area, predominantly falling within the High Weald AONB.  

We are looking to appoint a suitable candidate to the role of Principal Planning Officer/DM Team Leader. The successful applicant will bring their experience to a critical role dealing with major and other significant applications in both rural and urban situations at a time of growth in the District. With experience at a senior level or above dealing with planning applications and/or policy work and with the ability to negotiate, communicate and prepare high quality reports, the successful applicant for the post will contribute primarily to the Development Management Team. You will deal with a range of work in urban situations and within the rural area, the majority of which is within the High Weald AONB.
