We are seeking an experienced Director to join our London Town Planning and EIA Team to support our growth plans and build on 30 years of success at RPS.

Reporting to the Operational Director, you will have a track record in work winning with a strong client following.  Alongside generating new business, you will be mentoring and supporting other members of the team.

Your background

You will be a highly experienced, influential and competent practitioner with strong leadership qualities, outstanding communication skills, a demonstrable track record in generating new business, directing projects and developing strong working relationships with team, colleagues, clients and external bodies.

You will be a strategic and creative thinker who is commercially astute and demonstrates a track record in taking ownership of and achieving outcomes for; the Client, our business, your team and yourself. Responsibilities

  • Undertake effective business development activities, demonstrating a return on investment
  • Lead proposals and/or bid processes which may involve collaborating with other parts of the business
  • Work in partnership with the broader RPS Consulting businesses and RPS Group to drive our multi-disciplinary offering to clients
  • Support the Operational Director in the preparation of short (1 year), medium (3 years) and long (5 year) term business plans for the team to maintain a profitable and sustainable RPS presence in the market
  • Assume Project Director role on projects with overall responsibility of contract, financial performance, quality, programme, and risk
  • Represent and promote RPS at conferences, as and when required including participation on panels and debates in addition to preparing and publishing thought leadership pieces
  • Share new work and opportunities with colleagues within your team and across the Division
  • Promote the use of social media to effectively market the team and its ideas
