Job Details
As a Senior Planning Officer within our clients Development Management team you will be required to assess a wide range of planning applications. On occasion you will need to carry out site visits and you will be expected to undertake consultation exercises and produce detailed written report documents that clearly lay out how planning decisions have been arrived at. On a daily basis you will be dealing with planning enquiries from agents, applicants and the general public and you will be required to give accurate pre-application advice to prospective developers. You will also be required to negotiate agreements under S.106 of the Town and Country Planning Act where appropriate to secure wider benefit from development proposals.
To apply for this role you will need previous experience assessing planning applications, experience of working within a local authority based in London would be beneficial. You will need a relevant town planning degree and a good working knowledge of UK planning legislation. Good communication skills and confidence are essential and you must be comfortable dealing with the general public.
The rate offered will be commensurate with the individual's level of experience and the complexity of the caseload you are able to manage but is expected to be up to £30/hr (inside IR35). This contract will initially be offered for 3 months but could be extended. Our client is based in Essex.
