Planning Enforcement Officer

Salary: Grade 6 i.e. £27,041 to £29,577 per annum

Based at our modern offices in Worksop, Nottinghamshire. This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated individual to join our vibrant and progressive Planning team. You will be positive, enthusiastic and forward thinking, with relevant experience of working in a planning enforcement environment.

In this vital planning role, you will enjoy the challenge of working within a busy team, with opportunities to work on both rural and urban projects. You will carry out a range of enforcement duties, supported by the Senior Planning Development Officer, taking account of relevant legislation, policies and the procedures of the Council, as well as assess and make recommendations ensuring awareness of enforcement background, site histories and present policies.

Your responsibilities will include visiting sites to investigate any suspected breaches of planning control and high hedges, so you will need a driving licence. You will also be required to work positively with developers and members of the public to resolve any identified breaches and to attend Court and Public Inquiries to give evidence on behalf of the Council. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are therefore vital. We will also expect you to have strong analytical and judgment skills in order to interpret plans, information and data, as well as being a great problem solver.
