Planning Policy Manager

Grade – SM1 £55,067.40 - £60,566.52 per annum

It is an exciting time to join Test Valley. We are an ambitious and optimistic Council that has put strategic planning at the centre of achieving our future aspirations.  The role will be responsible for all aspects of planning policy; infrastructure delivery and working on our response to the climate emergency. These are high profile areas of work but with your experience and our support, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of the Borough which will enable our communities to fulfil their potential.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who will be able to visualise, articulate and deliver on the Council’s strategic planning objectives. This is primarily through overseeing the implementation of the current Local Plan and the production of the new version. To do this you will be able to bring a logical approach in dealing with the challenges the Council will face, identify solutions and manage any risks.

You will be supported by a dedicated and motivated team of professional planners.  We expect you to be an effective communicator and be able to build strong relationships through engaging with our communities, partners and across the Council.

TVBC offer a number of benefits to employees such as generous holiday entitlements, pension scheme and flexible working. All employee benefits are listed on our website.

If this has caught your interest and you think you could make a difference then we’d really love to hear from you.

For an informal discussion about the role please contact Graham Smith, Head of Planning Policy and Economic Development, on 01264 368141.
