As a Principal Planner within our clients Development Management team you will be required to assess a wide range of planning applications, from minor through to majors. On occasion you may also be required to assist the Team Leader with signing off on junior officer's work.

On occasion you will need to carry out site visits and you will be expected to undertake consultation exercises and produce detailed written report documents that clearly lay out how planning decisions have been arrived at. On a daily basis you will be dealing with planning enquiries from agents, applicants and the general public and you will be required to give accurate pre-application advice to prospective developers.

To apply for this role you will need previous experience assessing planning applications for a local authority. You will need a relevant town planning degree and a good working knowledge of UK planning legislation. Good communication skills and confidence are essential and you must be comfortable dealing with the general public. Our client has a wide range of work underway and will accept applications from those with varying levels of experience.

This will be a part time contract role offering up to 22.2 hours a week for 6 months and the rate of pay will depend on your experience but is expected to be between £35-£38/hr (inside IR35). Our client is a Local Authority in Buckinghamshire and this will be a home working role, however you will need to carry out your own site visits. Please get in touch for further details.
