Principal Infrastructure Funding Negotiator

We have an excellent opportunity to take up a role with our local authority client in the South East England and help deliver a busy programme of infrastructure development projects. As a Principal Infrastructure Officer you will be required to provide specialist advice on development viability for a wide range of proposed projects as well as assist with the Housing Infrastructure Fund (HIF) and other large-scale transport time limited projects. Fundamentally you will serve to help projects are delivered efficiently and within the context of our clients development plan and wider objectives for the Borough.

You will assist with the preparation and co-ordination of information for the HIF and other major transport infrastructure Business Case production, and with producing consultant briefs for all elements of infrastructure scheme development and delivery. In this role you will liaise with various stakeholders including Network Rail, Highways England, Environment Agency and Homes England.

To be considered you will need a significant amount of town planning related work experience in a similar role within a Local Authority setting. You will need a formal academic qualification such as a town planning degree (or similar) and you will need to have good communication skills and the confidence to take on a role that will require you to engage with a wide range of stakeholders both internally and externally to the Council. You will need good analytical skills and the ability to produce clear and concise report documents that convey complex information in an easily understood format for those who may not be technically grounded in planning related matters.

Initially this will be an 8 month contract but it could be extended beyond this and the rate offered will be between £43-£49/hr (inside IR35) depending on your experience. Please get in touch for a full job spec.
