How would you like to take the next step in your career by playing a key role in a multi-award winning planning service?
Who we are:
Plymouth City Council planning service is a fast passed but friendly service where joint working and team work is key to success. The role is in the Strategic Growth Team, the City Council’s highly experienced multi-discipline team charged with driving forward the City’s ambitious growth agenda through great partnership working and proactive planning.
The Role:
As one of the more senior planning officers in the team you will coordinate the planning process and the delivery of some of the City’s most important development projects. This includes the opportunity to work on such projects as new mixed use communities, coordinating delivery of new major Commercial Centre in Derriford and major waterfront and City Centre regeneration schemes.
About you:
Given the scope of these projects, we are looking for a candidate with experience on strategic and major projects delivery with a proactive and delivery minded approach to your work. Good project management skills and an excellent approach to partnership working and customer service through the planning system will also be required. While the ideal candidate will lead projects through the entire planning process, we are particularly interested in candidates who can help navigate schemes through the Development Management process ensuring high quality outcomes and schemes which can be delivered.
Applicants should have a strong range of planning experience, a degree or equivalent in Town Planning or similar and be a chartered member of the Royal Town Planning Institute.
Please note that this is a career-graded role. The department is seeking applications from candidates who meet the requirements of grade H/I shown in the role profile.
