Planning Policy Team Manager (Policy Team)

Grade J with a salary up to £54,459

Located in the Civic Offices, High Street, Epping, CM16 4BZ and Flexible Home Working

28 days annual leave (or pro rata equivalent)

Based in the Policy and Implementation Team within the Planning Directorate

Epping Forest District Council is looking for a Planning Policy Team Manager to play an integral part in leading the team, as we take our new Local Plan through independent examination towards adoption and implementation of our policies. The Local Plan sets out ambitious growth for the District, a new Garden Town, and the delivery of 11,400 new homes and 10,800 new jobs by 2033.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and ambitious individual, ideally with full RTPI membership or equivalent, to work with us to embrace the key challenges and opportunities to deliver the planned growth within our District. You will have gained your experience in either the public or private sector with an emphasis on plan making or site promotion to develop new planning policies.

You will have the opportunity to work in a supportive, positive and flexible working environment, enabling you to be involved in a range of projects whilst maintaining a healthy work/life balance.

You will play a key role in helping to secure the adoption of the Local Plan and supporting its implementation, as well as its review in due course. You will be working on a range of policy development projects with a variety of partners, stakeholders and developers, therefore strong interpersonal skills are key.
