Assistant Planner/Planner/Senior Planner

We are a residential led planning consultancy specialising in the delivery of countryside dwellings of exceptional quality.

We work throughout the south and midlands on a wide range of rural sites. The nature of our business often involves working within or near sensitive designated landscapes. We work alongside an array of class leading architects to ensure that we deliver for our clients and stake-holders alike. Communication across the whole project team is key, and we take pride in formulating robust planning strategies that deliver results.

Axiom Planning was founded in 2020 and on the back of a hugely successful first year we are now looking to expand the team. Joining a dynamic firm means your contribution and involvement will be wide-ranging and meaningful.

We are passionate and take great pride in the quality of our work, and are looking to find someone who shares this mindset.

This is a full time position, however, consideration will be given to those seeking part-time work. You will get involved with all forms of planning work, including:

  • Site visits, in some of the most beautiful parts of the country
  • Research and report writing, as part of our site appraisal process
  • Preparation and management of pre-application and full application submissions across a range of high-end residential projects
  • Fielding new enquiries and assisting with the preparation of fee proposals
  • Supporting the general running of the firm by carrying out administrative tasks as needed

You will work alongside the Director on a wide range of projects, and in time, lead on several projects of your own. We will encourage and support your personal development through the provision of structured guidance and training. Successful candidates should be able to self-motivate and demonstrate high levels of professionalism.

We take great pride in being subject-matter experts and will support your professional development.

The role will necessitate home-working, and therefore it is essential that you are comfortable working remotely. We utilise class leading IT equipment and will provide excellent communications to ensure you remain connected at all times. Living within a commutable distance of Winchester (Hampshire) is desirable.

It is essential the candidate has the following;

  • A willingness to learn and a desire to provide excellent work. Attention to detail is critical
  • Demonstrate strong report-writing, communication and organisation skills for liaising with colleagues, clients, architects and members of the public
  • Able to carry out detailed research and convey information clearly
  • Hold an RTPI accredited degree (or be enrolled on an accredited course)
  • Have previous experience within the planning sector (exceptional candidates with no experience will be considered)
  • Be working towards Chartered membership of the RTPI (or already enjoy chartered status)
  • Good time management skills and an ability to work under pressure on multiple projects

  • Competitive starting salary (depending on skills and experience)
  • Annual Bonus
  • RTPI membership fees paid
  • Pension
  • Holiday Entitlement - 28 days plus Bank Holidays and your birthday (increasing with length of service).

You will receive a full suite of brand new IT equipment, including a class leading laptop and phone.

Please email Daniel Gender-Sherry (Planning Director) at [email protected] with a copy of your CV, and a covering letter outlining why you would like the role.
