Exciting Opportunity for a Principal S106 & CIL Officer!

The Post

This permanent post with flexible working arrangements is based at Brent Council’s award winning offices

If you are ready to be part of a dynamic growing Infrastructure Planning team in a borough that has an ambitious programme to deliver real community benefits for its residents then this could be the role for you.

An exciting opportunity to play a key role in ensuring growth and regeneration in the borough is delivered in line with the Brent Local Plan, Borough Plan priorities and the Infrastructure Delivery Plan. As part of the Spatial Planning service, you will:

  • Lead on the implementation of the ICT programme EXACOM (new system to monitor s106 and CIL)
  • Assist the Team Leader in governance of s106 and CIL
  • Identify projects and recommending allocations
  • Work with internal teams allocating s106 money, (each year £1.5 to £3m of S106 money is allocated!)
  • Lead in supporting two officers, assist with their training and development

This is an exciting chance to work within a highly performing team with significant CIL receipts to spend on an ambitious programme of delivering infrastructure.


The Person

You will have a passion for infrastructure planning, recognising the important role it plays in ensuring Brent’s communities benefit from growth and regeneration., You will also bring strong S106 & CIL collection experience, be able to harness good team working within Spatial Planning & Transport and wider Planning & Development Services and have the ability to think creatively.

This role presents a unique opportunity for a well-organised, highly motivated S106 and CIL officer who is passionate about delivering high quality outcomes and projects. With a positive can do attitude, you will be able to take the initiative and be creative in problem solving and S106 and CIL collection.

Hours of work: 36 hours per week
