Interim Lead Programme Manager - Place
An opportunity has arisen for a fixed term 12 month maternity cover for a Lead Programme Manager – Place, to join our Delivery team.
Design Council is an independent charity with a purpose to make life better by Design. Our vision is a world where the role and value of design is recognised as a fundamental creator of value, enabling happier, healthier and safer lives for all.
The Delivery team is expanding to support delivery of a range of exciting programmes. Having recently completed the new National Design Guide, we are supporting Government initiatives such as the High Street Task Force, alongside our design support work for Local Authorities, Universities and developers. You will be working on some of the UK’s most exciting Built Environment projects from complex urban regeneration schemes to the UK’s most challenging infrastructure projects to enable and inspire our clients to create and deliver better places.
You will have passion for inclusive place-making through your experience in architecture, planning, urban design and place-making, the ability to design programmes of support for Local Authorities, Government and private sector clients and the experience of engaging stakeholders in design and disseminating advice. In return you will have the opportunity to grow and develop your skills working with our network of leading UK experts on some of the country’s most exciting projects
We value inclusion, equality and diversity and we know that we can only design better for all, when we bring together people from different backgrounds and perspectives. Therefore, we are actively recruiting for a diversity of candidates that reflects the ‘all’ of the society we are designing with and for. We can offer options to work from home, flexible working, or compressed hours or other adjustments.
We live in a shifting world where design can make a real difference to all of us within it. If you have an appetite to make this change, we’d love to hear from you. To apply please send a cover letter and CV before the advertised closing date outlining your suitability for the role.
