Persimmon Homes Lancashire are looking for a motivated Planner or Senior Planner to support the work of the Planning & Land Team in our busy Lancaster Office. This is an exciting opportunity to work in an environment where your input can be seen on the ground.

The successful candidate will be responsible for a programme of planning promotion and planning submissions whilst being expected to take a leading role in the formulation and submission of planning applications large and small to support the growth of the business.  You will be expected to negotiate new and vary existing s106 agreement. Alongside this you will assist in identifying and assessing land opportunities and play a supporting role in the preparation of financial appraisals for new sites. You will be able to develop your planning skills, knowledge in the residential planning process from a developer perspective. The job will include commissioning, coordination and organisation of information from external consultants and internal departments to facilitate obtaining viable deliverable planning permissions alongside site purchase.

Appraisal of planning policy documents, developing planning strategies and local plan submissions for the promotion of strategic development opportunities through the planning system will also be required. With support from the Persimmon Team you will be given experience of working within a Major National House Builder delivering residential developments across Lancashire and Cumbria. From securing planning permissions and land allocations, to negotiating S106 Agreements and planning conditions, you will be given the opportunity to be a key part of the business across the spectrum of Land & Planning.

The position requires an enthusiastic, hardworking individual who is willing to show their initiative working as part of a small team in a busy commercial office. Professional communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills are essential.

You will be able to work on your own initiative as well as being a team player and have a strong level of computer literacy. You should be a proficient user of the Microsoft Office suite of applications and be willing and able to adapt to use other software packages. A driving licence is essential.
