Planner - Part Time
£37,552 PA pro rata increasing to £39,782 PA pro rata
Dartford is an ambitious authority located in Kent but on the edge of London and the Development Management team is dealing with high levels of growth. A range of employment, leisure and residential schemes are coming forward across the Borough. We have a 5 year housing land supply in place and strong housing delivery. There are also an increasing number of complex minor and householder applications coming forward.
Due to promotion of the former post holder we have a vacancy in the Development Management team and we are looking for someone who can deal efficiently and effectively with the minor and householder planning applications which form the backbone of the development management team work.
We are looking for a Planner with extensive experience of a variety of minor planning applications and appeals and a proactive and collaborative approach to dealing with new development to achieve optimum results. A sound understanding of planning legislation is essential. You will have well-developed negotiating skills and the ability to develop good relationships with the people that you deal with.
The successful applicant will join a professional, experienced and efficient Development Management team which is ambitious in striving for positive outcomes. We have a mutually supportive and sociable team culture. Development Management, Planning Policy and Planning Administration are well integrated with each other and striving to achieve common goals.
We would be interested to hear from candidates who have the required skills and are excited by the opportunities Dartford has to offer.
Requirements:
Qualification in Town Planning and membership eligibility for Royal Town Planning Institute
Benefits
Career average pension scheme, professional fee payment, flexible working including some home working, employee benefits package and generous leave entitlement.
The Council’s offices are in a highly accessible location, next to Dartford station with frequent services from Central London (Oyster Card coverage) and North Kent. Road connections via the M25 and A2 are also excellent.
Interviews will be held on 5th May 2021
