Our client, a Local Authority based in Hampshire, require a very experience Senior or Principal Town Planner to carry out a role within their Development Management Team. Your work will focus on dealing with a varied caseload of complex minor through to major planning applications and you will be providing expert technical advice at every stage. You will be required to complete reports, carry out site visits where required and represent the Council at committee.
Recent work experience in a UK local authority managing a caseload of this type is essential and your knowledge of current planning legislation and guidelines will need to be fully up to date. You will need to have good communication skills as you will be dealing with a wide range of stakeholders on a daily basis to convey complex, detailed information in a clear, concise format.
This local authority has a high volume of work at the moment so requires a planning officer who can hit the ground running with minimal support.
Initially this will be offered as a 6 month contract, the hourly rate offered will be up to £43/hr inside IR35 and home working will be permitted in this role. A full job description is available; please get in touch for further information.
