Carrington West are recruiting for a Deputy Planning Manager, to lead the major applications team, for their LPA client in London. The contract is to cover maternity leave and, therefore, offers some longer-term contract security.
 
Candidates who have experience within London Boroughs at dealing with strategic major applications will be preferred. The role will require the post-holder to liaise with the GLA on a regular basis, so any involvement in this capacity will also be looked upon more favourably.
 
Main Focus of Role:
To lead on strategic planning applications for the Council ensuring strategic objectives and local needs are met via sustainable, quality development. Provision of pre-application advice in line with government and corporate standards as well as the Council's planning policy framework. Responsibility for decisions and recommendations regarding Development Management. Robust and detailed procedures implemented and managed for the processing of all Development Management applications, pre-applications and related processes. Provide a supporting role to the Planning Manager and to deputise when required.
 
To ensure quality and value for money at all times. To ensure the service complies with relevant legislation, regulations and policies. To support Planning Managers / in the delivery of town planning services including providing a customer focused service which maximises service outcomes in relation to cost.
