Job Details

We’re Hallam Land Management Limited, the strategic land and planning promotion subsidiary of the Henry Boot Group of Companies. Our role is to promote and develop land opportunities through the complexities of the UK Town and Planning system. We are very proud of our successful track record in developing both difficult and challenging sites. We now have an exciting opportunity for a proactive and loyal Development Planner to join our business.

Our office is based in Northampton, however we welcome agile hybrid working patterns whereby you will not be fully based in the office and therefore this opportunity would be perfect if you live in Warwickshire, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, Rutland, Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire or Buckinghamshire.

Your Role

As a Development Planner you’re ultimately responsible for the planning and promotion of land development schemes within the South Midlands region including the identification of new scheme opportunities. Working within the land promotion industry, you will project manage new and existing development schemes through the planning process, negotiating satisfactory S106 agreements and planning conditions to achieve satisfactory planning consent.

Being a key member of the team, you will undertake systematic planning research and site searching of development opportunities with owners, agents and advisors. You’ll also be responsible for preparing, discussing and submitting offers to owners and agents for new opportunities.

About You

This is an exciting and varied opportunity, no two days are the same and therefore you’ll be extremely organised. You will hold a relevant degree and ideally have 2 – 5 years’ experience in a similar role. You will be in contact with a whole range of different people during any given day, therefore you will be a natural communicator and negotiator. The role of Development Planner requires travel within our South Midlands region. Being an RTPI or RICS member would be advantageous but isn’t necessary.
