Senior Planning Policy Officer
Our client is a Local Authority based in South West London which is rapidly growing and changing and they have a requirement for a Senior Planning Policy Officer to join their dynamic Policy Team. You will be expected to work independently and take personal responsibility for a full range of planning policy work which contributes towards the development of planning policies in accordance with national policy, regulations and best practice. This is a fast paced team and you will have a real opportunity to shape the council's policy for the benefit of our residents.
As necessary you will lead on the preparation of specialist evidence in respect of appeals including presenting evidence at Public Inquiries, Hearings and written representations. Our client Local Plan is currently being prepared for approval by Committee in September; the successful candidate will be expected to hit the ground running in order to fully contribute to achieving this milestone.
To apply for this role you must have a minimum of 3 years previous experience within a local authority planning policy department. You will need to have a good knowledge of UK planning guidelines and relevant legislation and an appropriate level of qualification expected to undertake a role of this nature. Experience of preparing and presenting evidence to an examination in public is essential.
This role will pay between £30 - £35p/hr (inside IR35) and will initially be offered as a 3 month contract, though it is likely to be extended beyond this. Contact us for full details.
