About Us

Snowdonia National Park Authority protects the natural beauty, wildlife and cultural heritage of Snowdonia National Park. Covering 823 miles of diverse landscape, the Park is home to over 26,000 people, the highest mountain in Wales and the largest natural lake in Wales.

We are now looking for a Planning Officer to join our Compliance Team at our offices in Penrhyndeudraeth.

Working alongside our famous mountains, iconic coastlines and wonderful wildlife, you will have one of the most breath-taking office environments in the world.

The Role

As a Planning Officer, you will review planning applications, procedures and processes and provide advice to our organisation on impact, legislation and relevance.

Specifically, you will deal with the end-to-end planning application process, investigating, processing and amending all documentation.

You will also:

- Provide advice on policy and practice

- Negotiate amendments and making recommendations

- Carry out compliance investigations

- Prepare statements for appeals and represent at hearings and public enquiries

- Carry out compliance investigations into all alleged breaches of planning control

- To contribute to the development of planning compliance strategies and policies

About You

To join us as a Planning Officer, you will need:

- The ability to communicate in both Welsh and English is essential

- Experience of planning matters in rural areas

- The ability to read and understand building plans

- An understanding and appreciation of the planning issues affecting National Parks

- Full membership of the RTPI (Royal Town Planning Institute) or working towards applying for full membership

- A degree level qualification in a relevant subject

- A valid driving licence

Experience in matters such as town planning, architecture, building design or conservation would be beneficial to your application, as would experience in the use of GIS and database programs.

- Rhoi cyngor ar bolisi ac arfer

- Trafod diwygiadau a gwneud argymhellion

- Cynnal ymchwiliadau cydymffurfio

- Paratoi datganiadau ar gyfer apeliadau a'u cynrychioli mewn gwrandawiadau ac ymholiadau cyhoeddus

- Cynnal ymchwiliadau cydymffurfio i bob achos honedig o dorri rheolaeth cynllunio

- Cyfrannu at ddatblygu strategaethau a pholisïau cydymffurfio cynllunio

Byddai profiad mewn materion fel cynllunio tref, pensaernïaeth, dylunio adeiladau neu gadwraeth yn fuddiol i'ch cais, fel y byddai profiad o ddefnyddio rhaglenni GIS a chronfa ddata.
