We currently have an opportunity for two highly motivated individuals to join us:


As part of the Development Management team, you will be able manage a mixed case load including applications for schools, assisted living, new road schemes, other county council developments and cross boundary applications as well as minerals and waste developments.  You will also have some technical responsibilities in processing planning applications. Reporting to the Development Planning Team Leader, you will be able to work under your own initiative, with limited supervision, and manage your time and workload and supervise the workload of others. The role will include attendance at the Planning Regulatory Committee.  Having the required qualifications, you will have an understanding of development management practices, policies and procedures.  


As part of the Planning Policy Team, you will be to support the statutory implementation, monitoring and update of the adopted Hampshire Minerals and Waste Plan. This will include the preparation of monitoring reports, surveys, data collection and analysis using GIS and databases. Reporting to the Project Manager (Minerals and Waste Policy) you will be able to work under your own initiative, with limited supervision, and manage your time and workload. 

Having the required qualifications, you will have a genuine interest in minerals and waste planning and the environment.  
 
Both roles require flexibility in supporting the Strategic Planning service as a whole, and creativity in exploring business opportunities and promoting partnership working. You may also have the opportunity to be involved in delivering our traded services contracts for other authorities.


About you: You will be able to demonstrate a knowledge of minerals and waste, supported by excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Effective working in a political environment with the ability to identify the priorities for the service is essential, as is the ability to manage teams and projects effectively. You will also have excellent IT skills. You will need be confident in dealing with people to ensure that a good quality customer service is provided to all customers.
