Come to Broxtowe and help shape the future of the East Midlands. Broxtowe Borough is the Government’s preferred location for a High Speed 2 rail station, and is home to a wide range of businesses including leading telecommunication, retail and pharmaceutical companies.  The Council has an adopted Core Strategy to secure significant growth and inward investment. The Part 2 Local Plan was adopted in 2019 and includes site allocations and development management policies to assist in delivering this growth. Broxtowe Council are also a focal part of the East Midlands Development Corporation, which together with other partners and authorities will help design, shape and deliver the growth aspirations for large development sites adjacent to the HS2 station.

These sites are likely to be at the forefront of development planning over the next few years and we want you to be a part of it. Alongside this strategic site for growth Broxtowe has several other allocated sites, and is a diverse urban and rural area to the west of Nottingham. Our geographical location is advantageous and enables officers to develop by dealing with a wide variety of applications.

The Planning Contributions Officer/Senior Planner role requires someone with experience of dealing with S106 agreements and/or CIL as this individual would be responsible for overseeing and monitoring all s106 agreements in the borough, maintaining accurate records and liaising with developers and consultees to secure s106 contributions.  The role is coupled with dealing with a caseload of planning applications, including major applications.

You should be able to use your initiative, communicate effectively and have sound negotiating and report writing skills. The role would be within the Development Management function of the planning department.

As a Broxtowe Borough Council employee you can enjoy many benefits including flexible working, a generous pension fund, loyalty awards and family friendly policies to help you balance your work and family life, as well as discounts and offers as part of our employee benefits scheme. You can read more about these at www.broxtowe.gov.uk/jobs
