Green Infrastructure Delivery Project Officer

This is an exciting time to join our Local Authority client following the Council's announcement of the Climate Emergency and its commitment to deliver a number of projects to help tackle climate change.

One of these projects involves ambitious plans to plant 250,000 trees in the district over the next 5 years and the Council is therefore seeking an experienced project manager, to work in the Council's Green Infrastructure team, to coordinate and deliver this project.

As part of the proposals to deliver this number of new trees, as well as maintain the Council's existing stock of trees, the project will also include the development of a Council Tree Strategy, this will set out how the Council could maximise the wide range of benefits that trees and woods can deliver in relation to health, amenity, climate change, and water management. The project will also develop and implement funding streams from the emerging Biodiversity Net Gain, Woodland Carbon Code, Environmental Land Management Schemes (ELMS) and Woodland Creation Grants.

As the successful applicant, you will have a background in project management and experience in managing budgets, stakeholder engagement and contract management.
·Project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2 / APM) and/or significant project management experience.
